Taskbar question
I have an XPS 400 with Windows MCE and when the system boots-up an icon for the add/remove application shows up in the taskbar notification area next to the system clock. I can't figure out how to stop that from running at startup. I went into msconfig and checked the startup tab but I don't see anything referring to the add/remove program there. Can someone help?

The icon is slightly tilted with a green arrow pointing left and downward a little on the top with something rectangular slightly tilted underneath it. Can't make it out.
the hover message says - Safely Remove Hardware
Right-click says the same thing.
Single left-click says - Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device Drives ( F;,G:,H:,I: )
I'm afraid to double click it.

Hi:
That icon indicates you have some USB hardware attached to your PC.You should left-click on it to shut down the device before unplugging it.
If you have no intention of ever unplugging your USB, you can hide that icon: Right-click a blank area of the systray, then on 'Properties' >Taskbar tab. Place a checkmark next to "Hide Inactive icons", and click on the 'Customize' button. Under 'Current Items' scroll down and select the 'Safely Remove Hardware', and choose the 'Always Hide' option.
My advice however is to leave it, as a reminder.

The icon is explained near the bottom of this document. You can hide it if you choose as described here.

Specifically, if anyone is interested, that USB device is a media card reader with four slots (each slot is assigned its own drive letter).
