Vista Drive Mapping Problem

We recently purchased 3 dell pc's for our small remote field office...

They are Vista Home Basic...

I set up a shared folder on one of the pc's name 'hydrair file sharing' - workgroup on all pc's is 'hydrair'

I cannot map to this shared folder...

It is asking for a user name and password...

I do not have passwords set up on any of the pc's...

The pc name containing the shared folder is 'sharon'...

I tried '\\sharon\hydrair file sharing' without a password...

It will not accept this..

What is the correct syntax?

What am I doing wrong?

thank you in advance...

Just for grins, what happens when you use the IP address instead of the name ?

    \\ \hydrair

    Something else to look at:

    Start / Right-Click Network /Properties

What are your settings for File sharing and Password protected sharing ?

If you're OK with not password protecting your shares, go into Network and Sharing Center and turn Password Protected Sharing to OFF. Then you can share any folder and allow everyone on the network to see and access them.
