Vista install Fixed!!! Those with "Worker Thread" Problem, This is what worked for me.

After trying for days. And getting no where with Dell Tech support. I went to the Dell Drivers and Downloads page and downloaded and installed the latest updates for my 410 running Windows XP. I installed the Bios update and then the latest update listed under Serial ATA (Intel Matrix Storage Manager, 2 files). I also installed the update for the SoundBlaster X-fi extreme music card. After doing all of this I thought I would try installing Vista again. After about 10 different tries I wasn't holding my breath. Much to my surprise it worked this time! Below is the link.     I want to add to this.
     
    When you update any BIOS, It is very critical to shut down all uneccesary programs that you are not using before updating the BIOS. Failure to do so may result in a Fatal Flash and you will have to call dell support to fix the problem. Usually through a mobo replacement.
