Vista Ultimate 64 bit problems!

I installed the Vista Ultimate 64 bits version.
If I leave the original 512mb of ram that came
with the system.  I won't crash just the machine
is slow.
But now, once I installed  the 2gb of Ram onto it
It starts giving me problems.
I keeps giving me the BSOD...so often that I re-install
it will 32 bits.
The same things happens when I install the 2gb of Ram in there.
PC2 6400 ( 800MHZ )......I was told that this will work with the system.
Well.....not sure what's going on.
This is what I did...install the 2gb, and install the 512mb also..
both now comes up to 2.5gb.....here's the strange thing..
It doesn't cause me any problems or crashes @ all
So..what is going?  I want to use the 2gb that uses 800mhz instead
of the 512mb that uses 667mhz...
thnx all

I don't see what system you are using, but the only Dell systems right now that support over 667MHz are the XPS 700 and 710 with the 1.4 bios flash

Why are you using the 64 bit version? It doesn.t buy very much (if anything) unless you have over 4 gb RAM.
