Nightmare scenario, has a loss of power to the PC when it was running, no ups. I didn`t think anything of it and just left the machine to come back later. Now when I switch it on it attempts to load windows 7 but refuses. It tries to do a restore to a previous time and that fails, next it goes into repair the computer runs for a short period and then displays;
Stop: 00000 21a (fatal system error) the verification of a known DLL failed. System process terminated.
I have used F8 to go into the advanced boot options and tried;
All the start in safe mode options (same error)
Repair your computer (same error)
I cannot find the option for the Dell factory image restore which I would have put down as my last option. Of course the PC only came with the dell utilities CD, no reinstallation CD as they are supposed to be on the HDD (which I cannot now access)
Anybody got any suggestions, it a Dell 620 with the i3 processor 2 months old.
AS it's still in warranty, you can contact Dell and they should take care of it.
However, HERE is the Dell instructions on accessing the Dell PC Restore, to restore the PC. Look it over to see if you missed a step. If it stil will not work, contact Dell as there could be a hardware problem and only Dell Support can get that corrected under warranty. We are just users helping users on here, not Dell employees.
You should also order the "backup discs" OS and drivers and utilites discs from Dell. There is a small charge but worth it. Click Me

Thanks, looked them over again but covered all points to no avail. Looks like will have to wait till tomorrow to get hold of Dell and at least order up the discs. Why didn`t I do it when I first got it, one of those jobs you always put off, fortunately I did a backup and shadow so all may not be lost.
