Windows Vista Install and SATA Drives

I'm about to do a clean install of Vista on my XPS 710, and I've downloaded all necessary drivers. However, I've not been able to find any SATA drivers for the initial installation. As an example, these would be the drivers requests by say a Windows XP installation and requiring F6 to be pressed in order to load them from a floppy drive.

Are these drivers included in the Windows Vista install discs already?

    Yes if it is not too new of a chipset.
     
    Depending on how the bios is set for that drive(s), drivers may not be needed. Usually only needed for Raid configurations.
     
    You can do a dry run of the installation , boot from the Vista dvd and let setup run, follow the prompts until it searches for the hard drive/OS, if it is found, you are set, if not, you need to find the Sata drivers, or change the bios setting for that drive to On, not raid.. You can cancel set up at any time.

    Cool deal. I did check the SATA settings in the BIOS beforehand, and everything is set to On. I don't have a raid setup at the moment just two SATA hard drives.

    I did boot off the CD, and the first two times I had an IRQ_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL blue screen. The third try was successful and was from a complete shutdown state. Funky monkey there.

    Install will probably take place this weekend. I was basically getting all my ducks in a row so to speak. Software, drivers, profile backups, etc....
