    Hi,

This is usually caused by something messing up the master boot record, leading to a hang-on-boot. The boot files are scrambled so that the system can't finish booting.

The fix is to refresh the master boot record. This takes only a few seconds, and is usually nondestructive to the drive, partitions, formatting and data.

Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.

Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.
When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console.
When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.
At the command prompt, type  "fixmbr" without the quotes

    Check here

In Control Panel  / Printers and Faxes .  Check that your printer says READY

If it says PAUSED, right click your printer and select resume printing.

When it is paused it will  just add everything to a queue

There is also "Properties " option here.  Check that all settings are OK
