Hi, i have a dell 8600, i have had it for a year with it running windows xp home ediiton. It wouldn't boot up and now i am stuck without it working. it came with no kind of windows xp restoration cd....any idea's as i am ashamed with the dell support!
reboot and hold F8 start your computer with safe mode with networking, then well work from there, if you cant boot up in safe mode then i would suggest reinstalling windows, if u dont have a windows disk then your right where i am.
yeah tried it, doesn't work! i don't have the xp home edition cd because dell never sent me it! know the feeling mate, terrible! what advice have you being given>
it loads up past the bios screen, then loads the windows xp loading screen then it goes to boot onto the welcome blue screen but it goes black and doesn't load, just stays black! i need some kind of support! i have windows xp home with legit serial on my laptop, quite dissapointed i can't use it.
What do you want to do? Do you want to format your hard drive and reinstall XP? Maybe I can give you a hand. it is true that Dell doesn't provide the cds but you can request for those from the Hardware warranty support. They can also give you some good suggestions aside from using the cd.
well i was unaware and i am disgusted to be honest, i am going to repair and sell it! i want to reformat it and get it running again, how can i go about this?
ok what i am trying to say is, my laptop boots up to the loading screen then it dies, i cannot access windows one bit, i want a complete reformat. i know how to reformat, just need a method or someone to sell me a copy of windows xxp and the drivers cd's so i cna get it all running again!
