You will have to get it from Microsoft. Order it here once that page becomes active.

With XP SP2 they are recomending backing up- I have XP Home  which I got with my PC from Dell

I went to Microsoft site and they have directions for installing onto your PC from the CD

Is the CD from Dell Ok to do that- On the Cd from Dell it say only use for reinstallation of XP?????????

Please advise all I want to to do is add the Back up file  unless you know of another way or area to get it?

Dell will not distribute the SP2 CD, Microsoft will.

To install Microsoft Backup in Windows XP Home, see the instructions here. Your XP Reisntallation CD contains the entirety of Windows XP and is what you will install the backup program from.

Microsoft Does recomend backing up files and information on the page about half way down at this link http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/protect/windowsxp/updates.aspx . Here is what is says on that page:

Important Before you begin to update your computer, back up your files and information. If you need help, see Backing up your computer files.

I arrived at the above link by going to the link where you can order the SP2 CD "Sometime Down The Road" and then clicking on the "follow these manual steps" link.
