xp

I've noticed with xp home when you install a printer and everythings going good with it after that printer goes down and you install the same exact printer it makes a copy of it. So an example in my printers section would be Epson cx7800 is the default then i put in the new one and i get Epson cx7800 (copy 1) and it doesnt make it default it keeps the other one as default. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    1) Don't install it again...

    2) Make (copy 1) the default by right clicking on it, then delete the other.

I'm missing something.  Why are you/they installing the printer a 2nd time "when it goes down"?  Don't do that, no duplicates...

Oh.  Printer fails.   Unplug it, plug in new printer, same model, it creates a duplicate.  Got it.

See if you use the exact same usb port if it happens.

Nope.  One would think that if the computer was off, you unplugged old and plugged in new (same model) that the computer wouldn't know...
