best ways to learn/ get help to solve laptop problems

newbie question: new xps laptop does not have service tag on the case nor a serial # ??

The service tag is the serial number -- look on your setup screen at powerup (F2 a few times before windows loads).

If there's no service tag there, contact your seller for an explanation.

Gifted computer. The laptop has no tag/ serial #. Able to seek help by private message with order # written down although had dropped off dell login already.

The service tag was found in tiny lettering on proof of purchase email.

Virtual agent knows the code but no dell human.
