    Same problem here on a Dell XPS 15

    Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3E9B&SUBSYS_087C1028&REV_00\3&11583659&0&10 had a problem starting.

    Driver Name: display.inf
    Class Guid: {4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
    Service: BasicDisplay
    Lower Filters:
    Upper Filters:
    Problem: 0x0
    Problem Status: 0xC00000E5

    Only "Service" seems different from my colleagues above.

    Disabling and reenabling the device in device manager fixes the issue untill you reboot the system.

    This is a problem since the HDMI port on my DELL XPS 15 will not function while this error occurs.

    Please advise.

    Encountered this on Optiplex 7xxx machine.  Non-working machine had a driver from 2021 (newer than the number below).  Deleted the display adapter in devmgmt.msc along with the driver files (extra checkbox there when deleting the device).

    Rebooted and system reverted to using driver "27.20.100.8935" and both monitors now are working.
