Never had a problem with my headset, but suddenly, I don’t get a pop up to select the type of device when I plug it in. So the mic doesn’t work

The pop up setting is on in WavesMaxx

 

my mic works in WavesMaxx, but no other program

 

Advice would be greatly appreciated
