I believe you can do an in-place upgrade from win10 home to pro... You just need to buy a pro key from the Windows Store or other 3rd party vendor...

They offered Pro version on Ryzen Edition R10... Strangely though, if opting for the 3950x which is the top beast of the Ryzen 3000 series only Windows Home was available... I got the 3800x and the option for Pro was available...

Interesting why Dell doesn’t offer that option on Alienware desktops but they do all Alienware laptops and other non Alienware PCs.

Seems strange.

Every other vendor I’ve considered offers Win 10 Pro as an option.

Comes as an option on Aurora R11 Configuration 4, 5, and 6.  Doesn't look like it's offered on the first 3 configurations listed.

Now I see. It’s available on the i9 configs. Plus it’s an additional $93 for Win10 Pro. That’s much more than other vendors I’ve seen when you chose pro vs home.

Why would they limit it to the i9?

To me that’s a deal breaker. I don’t need an i9 or the added cost. I wanted the i7.

This makes me want to look elsewhere for my next gaming system.

I need Pro since I’ll also use that same system for non-gaming activities. I’ve always had the Pro version of Windows.

You can get Win 10 Pro for $39.99 until the end of June through PC World.

I'd defiantly feel better buying from them than eBay, but they are still third party keys you don't know the source - volume licensing deal? etc. (grey market).  From the link, it's not coming direct from Microsoft. 

You would think PC World would be a reputable supplier. Yes?

Microsoft offers Office at low/no cost directly through Microsoft's HUP, which may be available to you if your employer has a contract with msft.
