I got a problem with Dolby Vision (SmartHDR) on this Monitor. I bought it about 2 month ago and its the best monitor I ever had. Everything was fine, but one day I was on Steam Store and wanted to watch a Trailer of one game. After that my Dolby Vision broke. If I go to youtube and start a video my Dolby Vision will activate. As soon as I scroll down to comments, each little scroll with turnon and turnoff my Dolby Vision. After closing youtube, Dolby Vision will go off again. If I restart my PC, Dolby Vision will turn on on Desktop.
Before that, Dolby Vision would only turn on on Desktop and on Fullscreen programms or games or videos. Now its complitely buggy with Dolby Vision and without it my Screen get a little darker, like I'm missing some Brightness. And by turning off HDR in Windows, it gets really bright. I tried a complete reset and updating windows, gpu drivers.
I don't know a fix for that because that doesn't happen for me at all, but because you said that without Dolby Vision your screen is way too dark, did you try to enable HDR Peak 1000 and scale the SDR content brightness to whatever you like (I have it on 50)? Btw I have Dolby Vision disabled all the time because there isn't much content for it out there anyway.
I also have the excact problem! From one day to another Dolby Vision is broken. If I open Google Chrome, everytime i Scroll or open a new tab, Dolby Vision bugs around. If I use Firefoxe it is completely fine. But sometimes when I watch a video, it also gets black for a moment. I don't know, using this monitor without DV is not that good but it is sooo bugged...
Oh no. I just had this AW3225QF monitor (Aug 2024 manufacture date) delivered today direct from Dell. How stupid do I now feel?
Is there really no official Dell fix yet? No working firmware update? I can't believe a known defective product would still be sold on Dell's own website.
I want to use this as a second screen for my Dell M18 laptop (two Dells together - theory being maximum compatibility plug and play). Excited, I unboxed it , plugged it in and it worked for about 2 mins before the monitor went black for a second and then flashed up 'Dolby Vision' at the top right of screen when the display reappeared. It now happens every minute or so on games, browsing, youtube - everything. Sometimes it also does super quick screen glitches where everything just vaguely distorts for a moment and then corrects.
The settings advice in the link above didn't work for me sadly. I have the same problem even when 'Dolby Vision' turned off. In fact, it seems to happen on any Display/HDR setting or input.
I've read a lot of threads on this issue now and obviously wish I'd known about it before buying. I'm shocked. I genuinely can't believe a broken product would still be sold on their official store.
