deduplicate tape

with ADT, we can create tape with dedup format, so is the data in tape self contained, in another words, does it depend on any data on source Avamar?

if i have two independent(no replication between) Avamar server, create a dedup tape from server 1, can i restore the data on Avamar server 2?

ADT, doenst restore to a phisical Avamar, it uses a transport node (proxy avamar ve)....basically what it does is a replication to the transport node, then thats what you save on tape, when you restore, you restore the full avamar ve, then you just conect the client you want to restore to, and thats it...
