Shutdown Unused Network Ports
I have been asked to shutdown unused network ports on our Avamar nodes. Can I assume that I can simply ifdown these unused ports? Is there a special script needed to process this? I plan on opening a case just for confirmation, but if any of you have experience on this the help would be much appreciated.

I can't see any issue with using ifdown to shut down the unused NICs but they are configured to come back up on reboot.
I'd imagine that if they're not in use, the NICs would not be physically cabled. They also would not have IP addresses configured. Is this not sufficient?
