Hello, I just noticed that one of my SP's on a CX4-480 wont let me login or respond to CLI requests. I can login with SPB and it does not show any faults on SPA. I have tried to get the the setup page to restart the management server but i get a request timed out. So i started looking for a CLI method to restart it and cant issue any commands to SPA.
I am thinking that my last resort is to reboot that SP. since i cant connect to it to issue a command, i have to physically pull it out.
Anyone have any other idea's
Also, i cant remember if installing the analyzer enabler cuases the SP's to reboot???
Also, I dont see a CLI command to restart the management server. Anyone know of one? I only see one to reboot the SP. I figured i would try to connect to it thru the SPB peer port and see if i can do something with it.
The customer here recently purchased Solarwinds Profiler which uses the SMI-S program so some stuff in that emc article makes sense. But i did try connecting thru the service ports and i still cannot access it thru navisphere or CLI to restart the management service
I chatted with Support and we tried reseating the management module but that didnt work. I will try reseating the SP after work hours.
As for the SMI-S thing, i have 5 other arrays registered with Profiler that are not haveing issues.
It does seem like you ran into a variant of this problem, I have seen it a number of times,
Where you able to remotelyanywhere over the service-lan? if not I would recommend checking over serial and then attempt to restart the management server directly on the SP (on 127.0.0.1/setup), but normally this is done under the guidance of support (possibly themselves doing so.)
Regarding the issue with your SP being unmanaged, out of curiousity is it running Rel 29? If so do you use the array in anyway that uses Solutions Enabler?
Thanks for the help. I was able to use RA thru the service ports and log in to SPA with the remote control feature. I then opened IE and restarted the management server. I have all conectivity back.

Remotelyanywhere is builtin to the Clariion at release 29,
Its normal reserved for support to use, I would pass this primus onto the support person working the case
I would think connecting to 127.0.0.1/setup should be able to connect when connected with RA
