Dell G15 5511: Issues after installing BIOS update 1.22.1
Hi, there! I installed the latest Firmware/BIOS update two weeks ago and have had issues since then. Some of the problems include:
-Once the laptop enters sleep/hibernation mode, it cannot be turned on again. In these cases, I have opened the laptop, disconnected the battery and connected it again. Then it works. I noticed this detail: If the battery light was on because of being plugged in, it remains on despite unplugging it. If the battery light was off, it remains off despite plugging it. These lights come back to normal after disconnecting the battery from within.
-While working, the laptop can crash at any time: This means that the screen might go completely black (but keyboard lights stay on) and I have to perform a hard reset, or I get a Windows blue screen. In any case, I have to reset everything and start again with whatever I was doing. I noticed this happens more often when the laptop is disconnected.
I performed a hardware diagnosis and everything seems to be fine. I would like to uninstall the update but it cannot be downgraded, which is a pain. Any advice? Thanks!

Well, good to know I'm not the only one at least. I know there's a procedure for corrupted bios but I've also been told that if I mess up with that I can mess up the whole thing. So I'm basically waiting until this people release a new update. Meanwhile I need to use my laptop plugged because if I unplug it it crashes. It basically turned my laptop into a desktop computer.
I will never buy Dell again in my life

haha, bro, you make me realize they just deleted it from their website! I hope they re-launch it fixed soon. That shows there were a bunch of people with a similar issue.

No way!! So basically Dell ruined your motherboard? Wasn't it a way to restore it to factory conditions without having to change the whole thing?

I swear it definitely something with the BIOS ver.1.22.1. It's even not support it by Dell itself now. I try to roll back my BIOS version to 1.21.1 to see whether it will get a litter better.
After upgrade to 1.22.1, my laptop always turn black when I just try to wake it up from the sleep mode. That was to annoying!!!! All I can do is to reset it.
