Unplug the system, remove the battery and hold the power button for 30 sec.
Remove and reinstall the memory module(s).
Verify that the AC adapter LED is on before you plug in the notebook end. If it's not, replace it with a new one.
Plug in the AC adapter to the system. Verify that the LED stays ON. Leave the battery out and see if the system will power up. If it will, reinstall the battery and try again. If that hangs startup, the battery is bad.
If the system won't power up on AC only after doing the above, the mainboard is bad.
