I have had this problem come up twice now. I fixed it (after 3 months of installing/uninstalling and talking with a wide variety of "experts") and everything worked for about 2 months. HP says the printer, router, etc., are all working fine. MS says they've fixed the problem and my printer is compatible with my computer. Now I get 'cannot find driver' or 'printer offline' messages again and am unable to print. I have a Dell Inspiron 3000 series desktop and an HP Envy Photo 7855. I can print from my phone (Samsung), my Tab E, my husbands MAC, and the iPad. ??????
Could you post the exact model of your desktop as 3000 is a series but not an exact model number.. That might help pinpoint the problem. Also are you connected via a USB cable or do you have a wifi adapter?

Sorry, didn't realize this was for laptops. The desktop is a Dell Inspiron 3668 with Intel i3-7100 CPU and running Windows Home 10. It is hardwired to the router. The printer is HP ENVY Photo 7855 also hardwired to router. My husband has a MAC connect to the router also and he never has a problem with printing, scanning, etc. I have solved the problem, again, by uninstalling and reinstalling everything. Do you know of another area I can contact regarding this problem? Thanks, Kathi
