High RAM usage - Latitude 5410
Hello,
I have a Latitude 5410 i7 vPro with 16gb of RAM. About a month ago my laptop started running out of memory and rebooting. I thought this was an issue caused by a particular piece of source code I was debugging (i.e. possible memory leak in it). However, I have now changed projects and the problem is occurring more frequently. I used to be able to open several instances of Visual Studio now trying to open and run two is difficult. Nothing has changed, I haven't got any new hardware etc. My setup is with a dell dock connected by USB to power two monitors, a keyboard and mouse.
All windows and dell updates are installed and the computer has ran a virus scan with 0 threats. I've ran the built in memory test with 0 issues. I have noticed that my Paged pool can climb as high as 20Gb (right before a restart) and that my non-paged pool gets as high as 4.2Gb which I believe indicates a driver problem? I have no idea. I'm getting rather frustrated as it is very difficult to even attempt to do work at the moment. Even on startup (everything such as Teams etc is disabled from automatic startup) the laptop reckons 50% of the memory is already in use! DOING WHAT?!
Any advice (other than throwing the laptop out the window which is looking like a strong possibility) is appreciated, thank you.
