Trying to understand the differences with the docks

Is there any 30 second elevator pitch type of cliff note summary beyond this for the Dell laptop docks?  This is for a business use (word, excel, surfing the web, watch a video in off hours, etc.), either 1 or 2 monitors, a mouse, keyboard and network connection.

This has a little info

https://www.delltechnologies.com/asset/en-us/products/electronics-and-accessories/briefs-summaries/dell_commercial_docking_help_me_choose.pdf

But it says all have Thunderbolt connectivity.  That doesn't mean it runs thunderbolt, right?  TB is backwards compatible? ie a TB laptop will talk to a non TB dock, but you don't get TB features (which are???)

WD19S - 130W - $300 - Available in Sept! 1m cable

WD19S - 180W - $340 - Available in Sept! when would you need these extra watts?  The monitors get power from A/C. 1m cable

WD19TBS - $360 - Available in Aug.  Thunderbolt capable  0.8m cable

WD19DCS - 210W - $410 - Most expensive.  and conveniently, available now!  0.8m cable.

THANKS!

Thanks.  Meh.  Microsoft is like that.  A page with links.  That goes to more links.  How you guys get time to understand / digest all that info is way beyond my capabilities and time!
