9350: dual boot with windows?
My partner got a xps 13 9350 with Windows. I would like to set her up with a dual boot, but am worried. If I mess up her Windows partition I will be in trouble. Is a dual boot as easy as e.g. this thread suggests?

Since her 9350 is new, if I mess something up, can the Dell recover partition recover get back the factory install? I really don't want to deal with installing Windows myself (I have thankfully avoided that for 10 years now!).
The easiest and safest way is to simply buy a 2nd SDD for the laptop, then do a clean install of 16.04.1. If it works, just transfer any user files you wish to save. If there are any problems, the unmodified original disk is still available with no worries of corruption, rescue disk, restore partition, etc.
Usually I am a big fan of backups, but I prefer not to buy a 2nd SDD for the laptop because of this. I do appreciate your comment though and I'll keep it in mind once I'm a tad bit wealthier.
