Linux Compatibility Dell Precision 5520

I'm finding different issues in this forum related to Ubuntu OS that comes pre-installed with Dell Precision 5520.

Does the Dells pre-installed Ubuntu OS comes up with any non-free software? Is the hardware in the laptop compatible if I install latest generic version of Ubuntu ie version 17.04?

These are the Ubuntu minimum specs:

    1. 700 MHz processor (about Intel Celeron or better)
    2. 512 MiB RAM (system memory)
    3. 5 GB of hard-drive space (or USB stick, memory card or external drive but see LiveCD for an alternative approach)
    4. VGA capable of 1024x768 screen resolution
    5. Either a CD/DVD drive or a USB port for the installer media
    6. Internet access is helpful

If your machine meets or exceeds the requirements then yes you can install Ubuntu

    Get official Ubuntu iso here:

    https://www.ubuntu.com/desktop

Make bootable Ubuntu installation USB with Rufus get here:

    rufus.akeo.ie

    Get drivers for ubuntu here:
