Go to SolutionAs @JOcean correctly stated, your laptop does support Ubuntu.
Even if Dell doesn't officially support Linux on a particular computer, you can likely install it and drivers will be found. I've installed Ubuntu, Xubuntu and Mint on a few old Dells that officially don't support Linux.

As per this page at Ubuntu, they list the 5515 as certified for Ubuntu. This Dell page for the 5511 lists drivers that are also compatible with the 5515.
