Alienware m18x 8 beep codes wierd problem
So, I've been having this problem for past 2 weeks. First I started my laptop, all lights go on the keyboard, but screen doesnt turn on. I hear 8 beep sounds.
I remove the battery, unplugg the ac adapter, blah blah, it worked again. Then today i wake up, turn on my laptop, and again hear those unpleasant 8 beeps and get no screen. This lasted for an hour, and I just finally managed to turn it on. 8 beeps indicate LCD failure but how come it can turn on again. I need someone from tech support to contact me or something because i live in Croatia and i can't manage to email dell technical support or use online support chat because of where i live. Pls someone help

Hi Ramzan Artsikaev,
It is unfortunate that the computer beeps 8 times. The 8 beeps on the computer indicate LCD screen / LCD cable failure. Also I would suggest you to try connecting an external monitor and let me know what happens. You may also send me the system service tag via private message. I will check and see what can be done.

Hi Dell-Kiran K,
I have the exact same problem with the exact same computer. I did as you instructed and found that my computer is still in warranty. Where should I send the system service tag? Please help me! I live in Moscow, Russia and have no idea what to do.

Hi markoanic,
Sorry about the inconvenience. Alienware M18x computer giving 8 beeps suggests an issue with the LCD screen / LCD cable. If the issue happens again please try to check with an external monitor. You may use the below link to check the warranty status:

If the computer is still in warranty do send me the system service tag so that I can check and let you know what needs to be done.
If it is out of warranty please try reseating the LCD cable. You may use the manual to get more information on the same:

Do reply with your findings.
