Hard drive question
Doing a case swap with my X51 R2 and I want to remove alienware related stuff from my hard drive so it won't effect my upgrades (getting h100i new case, more ram,etc). Is there any specific way I should do this like reinstalling windows and just getting a clean start? I just don't want to end up having to buy a new copy of windows.
What I mean is like removing alienware brands like in 8.1 PC settings>PC and devices>PC info and it says like in big words at the top Alienware ALIENWARE_X51_R2 and other dell/alienware related programs like alienware respawn, etc.

Well it sounds like you're pretty much building another computer and this is an Alienware support forum. We provide support for Alienware computers. I don't think we can be of any use to you in this forum.

The motherboard?In addition to what Rodrigo said ...The supplied Dell/AW OEM Windows license is only for running on a Dell machine (namely, the motherboard).Buy a new full copy of Windows for your new machine and you should be good-to-go.Dell Rockstar

Hi,
Are you also going to be swapping the motherboard? You can uninstall the Alienware applications but your motherboard will still recognize the system as an Alienware X51 R2. It will still show the model name in PC info, as well as the Alienware logo during the initial boot screens, you cannot change this.
