4700 extra cooling fix?

I already have done this, and it seems to be working great! i've become an addict of trying to keep my 4700, which is loaded up with all kinds of goodies, extra cool.

I have a standard ball bearing fan that is the exact size of the case shroud's fan on the rear of the case. The one that pulls the air through the green thing onto the CPU.  I rigged it on the outside of the case (twisty ties) pulling in extra air so i pretty much have 2 fans blowing air down inside that green case shroud or whatever it's called.   I also have a pci exhaust fan running on the bottom of my case and i swear its pushing out almost 2x as much air now!  Im getting 10fps more in high line games such as CS2 and Doom3.

2 gig's of ddr2 ram, extra 80gig hard drive, a soundblaster pro audio card, pci exhaust fan,  and of course, a 6600 pci express vid card

Can I ask if you are using the original power supply that came with computer 305w and what brand of video card you have?  Also are you happy with that cards performance with Doom3?

yes, im using the original 305w Power supply.  I am running a 6600gt.  As for Doom3, yes, im quite pleased.  I actually played the old counter strike 1.6 last night and was running a perfect 99fps entire game in a 32person serve no less.  CS:Source the norm is 85, lows in the 50's.  Doom3 about the exact same.

its just a basic PCI exhaust fan, blowing air out the rear of the case.  Bought it for a few dollars on ebay.  It has a standard 4pin connector that plugs into the group of wires inside the case.

I'm just trying to picture this. It blows out the back of the PC???  I thoght those PCI fans either blow straight at the PCIe slot (up), or at the base of the unit (down). Does yours aim at the side panel mesh or  some thing like that??

    Thanks

It pulls the hot air off of the card and out the back of the system, i also have a fan blowing air straight down the middle of the computer, right above the heatsink and fan for the CPU, for a windtunnel effect
