I had to reinstall all my drivers and windows xp on my dimensons 4500.

I have an external hard drive and had movie clips stored there that I had taken with my  panasonic lumix  DMCLZ7 DIGITAL CAMERA.  These play with Quick Time.   since uninstalling and reinstalling everyting.  thes no longer play correctly.  they come up on QT and look like they are going to play, but then the picture becomes a still picture and the sound contiues....  I have uninstalled and reinstalled QT a half dozen times without improvement.   I have spent hours on the phone with Dell...they said everyting is okay with the drivers....  but I feel something is missing and wasn't reinstalled.....   when I use a program called everest there is a red mark by this  :   IDE ATA/ATAPI INTEL (R) 8280 IDB ULTRA STORAGE CONTROLLER.....   can you tell me what this means.   I am an older lady and have no computer training.   I enjoy my pictures and videos that i take of the grandkids,,,,,   I do emails and also search the internet for vacations and such.....

Can someone please help me.
