To try and id your ram download and run CPU-z. look at the memory tab to determine your current ram

There are basically four reasons, why RAM does not work (1) RAM not compatible to the computer (2) Faulty RAM (3) Bad memory slot [rare] (4) RAM not installed correctly.

RMA the memory you purchased and try going here and use either Crucial's Memory Advisor or System Scanner Tool, to find the correct memory for your 3000, that's guaranteed to be compatible.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand your post.

Try installing only the original RAM and see if the system boots, then if the 3000 starts correctly, it would seem that the additional RAM is not compatible.

It would seem that the 1gb memory module, is not compatible with your 3000 and you should return for a refund.

If I need 333, why do I have a 400 in there? The 256mb is a 400mhz. What do I put in there?

You have 333mhz ram

 

From CPU:

 

Memory Frequency 166.3 MHz (4:5)

 

Since this dual channel memory you multiply the frequency reading..166.3 times 2 to get 333

I agree with shesagordie. The ram module must not be compatible with your system
