Dimension 9100 - Blue Screen - Stop Code C0000221 - url.dll
I ran a music CD on my desk top and it made a lot of noise while it was loading and playing. I have no idea if this created the problem, but it's the last thing I remember that was not normal. Then I got the blue screen. I was somehow able to get out of that and got back to my desktop. Then several yellow warning boxes appeared, which I closed. The was the last time I saw my desktop.
I now have the blue screen with the error message - STOP: C0000221 (Bad Image Checksum) The image url.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the computed checksum.
I ran the extended test and got two errors
Error Code 0F00:1344 - Uncorrectable data error or media is write protected - The drive failed to perform the confidence test properly. This may indicate that the drive needs to be replaced (if this is a removeable media device, try different media).
Error Code 0F00:136C - IDE device failed. Blank media or no media is present in optical drive. Test requires media with digital data (resource CD, installation CD)
I tried reloading the OS disk and the light comes on that shows its working, but I can't get any further.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this?
Thanks.

Is there a way to get past the blue screen to back up the files and folders?
Thank you.

Usually not, try removing the hard drive and installing it an USB powered SATA external enclosure, or use a USB adaptor similar to THIS and attach the hard drive to a working computer and see if you can transfer the files and folders to it.
You could also, temporarily install the hard drive as a secondary, in another desktop that supports SATA and again see if you can transfer the files and folders.
Note: Only data files and folders can be saved, all programs and applications, must be reinstalled from their discs, or downloaded from the publisher's website.

'Error Code 0F00:1344 - Uncorrectable data error or media is write protected - The drive failed to perform the confidence test properly', usually indicates a failing hard drive.
Backup any files and folders you wish to save to other media and replace the SATA hard drive.
