E521 Stop Errors

Hey all ,

I have purchased a Dell E521 and have had nothing but problems with Blue Stop Error screens. Has any one else had this problem and if so what did you do to fix it? Dell has already replaced the entire system once and has since replaced the hard drive and memory on the second system.
I purchased the system with the upgraded Radeon x1300 video card and upgraded sound card as well. Doesnt matter what I do or what Dell has done so far we can not seem to get rid of this error

The stop error recieved is 0x0000008E

Please help I am fustrated to no end and am starting to lose complete faith in DELL.

It is most likely a software issue, what have you installed on it so far? If Dell replaced that much hardware and it still happens I would look at applications first.

got the new hard drive and installed windows and booted the system and got the error right away so its not a software issue

Have you run the Dell diagnostics on it? F12 at boot - do the extended test on the RAM and hard drive.

another thing I have just found out is the Radeon X1300 min requirements is a 350W Power supply and the E521 comes with a 305W power supply as stock. Could this cause issue?

No. The 305W is a mean number; the 350 is a max. The 305 in the Dell is more than capable of putting out the power the X1300 needs.

Did the stop errors start immediately after receipt of the system, BEFORE you installed any other hardware or software?

right out of the box mind you there is no way to predict when it is going to happen it just happens. I am running 3dmark tests now

I've played hours of WoW, Guild Wars and Half Life 2 on my Radeon X1300 Pro that shipped with my E520, which has the same power supply. As stated, that should not be an issue.

That issue was resolved in SP2 unless some older application dropped an ancient DLL on his system.
