Ipod shuffle
my 8400 does not see the ipod when it's plugged in. I have plugged it into at least 8 other PC's and in every case they recognize the ipod as a flash drive. I have tried every USB port with the same results. All other peripherals attached to the pc are functioning. There is one exception to the other pc tests. I just tested the ipod on my friend's 8400 and guess what? His didn't see the ipod either! Do we have an issue with Dell PCs????
- Thanks for the heads up on the USB ports and iPods. I tried earlier on my Dell 8400's front USB port and my computer did not recognize the iPod, nor on the back USB until I tried moving it over as suggested and it's good to go now. Thanks. I was ready to uninstall and start over until I found your suggestion.

If you're using the ports on the front of the 8400, they are not allowing for the iPod to be plugged in fully; hence it appears the computer does not see it. You have to use the ports on the back but again, make sure you select only those, which are not obstructed by they computer case of the plastic peg covering the integrated sound ports. Hope that helps!
