How much PC100 memory can Windows 98 handle. It's a 550MHz PIII system. A speedy response would be great. Thank you!!!

Hi,Windows 98 can use up to 1GB of memory. PC100 or otherwise.
Buff was correct that it has a memory bug with systems having over 512MB, but that can be fixed be a simple bug fix that you can find at my memory page.
How much memory your system will handel is another thing. You list three systems in your signature. Which system are you refering to?
If you use the Crucial RAM picker at my site and input your system information, your memory specs along with the max that the system will hold is shown on the page that comes up.Mis Dos Centavos,

Windows 98 can handle up to 1.5gb with this fix http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;253912
However, if you don't apply this fix, then 512mb will be the max.... I suppose that you are wanting memory for your gateway, you can use crucial's memory selector to find the memory that you need.....However, i do not know what the specs are for your system, and whether you can install 512mb modules or not...but i'm guessing that 512mb module isn't compatible with your system.
