Physical Devices Error Occurred (0)

This is the screen that comes on when I turn on the computer, just before the Dell logo comes on

When I enter Configuration Utilities, this is what I see

I have run the Diagnostics and it says everything is working fine - no problem with any of the hardware. Some think the problem has to do with RAID. Perhaps the RAID on my computer failed, or something. I would appreciate any comment on my problem. For instance how to go about fixing the RAID problem or whatever issue might be happening with the computer.

FYI: I have not lost anything on the computer yet. The only problem I seem to be experiencing are occasional freezes and slowness.

Can you post the model of your system? Sorry if I missed this, also from the pictures it looks like you're in RAID 0 (Striped volume and not mirrored like RAID 1), is that correct? I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something from what SpeedStep was seeing.

I would backup your data as a precaution, it could be an early sign (but somewhat odd since usually it is all or nothing w/ RAID 0). You were saying you have noticed some slowness too?

Here is another forum post describing something similar with a RAID 0 system. Being that diags passed, that's a good sign but I would still be cautious and make sure everything is backed up.

Disk 1 IN A MIRRORED SET HAS DIED.  BACKUP YOUR DATA AND REPLACE THE DRIVE.:emotion-3:

Normally when you have a RAID 0 stripe set losing any drive loses all data.

Thanks SpeedStep for your quick response. I hear you, about Disk 1. I have run diagnostics after diagnostics and they all tell me there is nothing wrong with any of the hardware, including both disks. Meaning that the problem has to do with software, rather than hardware. Perhaps the bios or IRST?
