Problem trying to uninstall Windows XP....

I'm trying to uninstall XP by going into "Add/Remove Programs" but I don't see Windows XP as an option to remove it!? So how else do I go about uninstalling it?

Thanks in advance.

Reformat using the Windows XP CD or a Windows boot disk. One cannot uninstall XP by entering the Control Panel and using the "Add/Remove" function.

Xp is your operating system, you cannot un-install your operating system. Why do you want to un-install XP?

I would also like to know how to completely erase it. The reason why I would want to erase it on mine is because sometimes I don't know how to fix a problem so I just want to reinstall XP to get rid of a problem. I once tried this but it didn't erase what I previously had on my hard drive. Does anybody know how to totally erase everything? Would that be what is called a "clean install?" I'd like to know how to do this just in case I ever need to.

Well I think Denny already explained how to do it, right? It's under my thread from a few days ago. It was something like, "How do I reformat my 4400?"
