- I would also like to know how to completely erase it. The reason why I would want to erase it on mine is because sometimes I don't know how to fix a problem so I just want to reinstall XP to get rid of a problem. I once tried this but it didn't erase what I previously had on my hard drive. Does anybody know how to totally erase everything? Would that be what is called a "clean install?" I'd like to know how to do this just in case I ever need to.
