problems with recovery

hi

i have a dell inspiron one

i have been trying to use recovery

i press f8 on startup, but when i press repair computer it momentarily displays downloading files and then immediately loads windows as usual

any ideas ?

Hi Isb3011,

Can you explain why you are trying to restore the hard drive image? For example, are you getting blue screen errors? Some of these errors can reflect a hardware problem, in which case restoring the factory drive image won't help.

i tend to restore the image a couple of times a year just to clear out rubbish and speed things up

Have you tried creating recovery discs using the DataSafe utility and restoring the factory image using those?
