Safe mode problem

Earlier I posted a message saying that my computer will only start up in Safe Mode. I've had replies that said that something is wrong etc., that I must have added new hardware or software. The problem is that nothing has been added. How do I get Safe Mode to go away?

    smackey,

You needn't have added anything. It sounds like one of your drivers has become corrupted. Go to Start|Settings|Control Panel. Double-click System and look on the Device Manager tab for any indication of difficulties (a colored swatch with an exclamation point in it). You can also selectively test the hardware of your system using the procedure described in Solution #2 here.
