Please start using this thread to post your problems or issues with your XPS 700.

Here are the issues so far:

• Case will no longer open (side panel) - STILL CANNOT GET IT OPEN :smileysad: UPDATE - My father came over tonight and together we were able to get it open. Apparently the piece of metal that is just in front of the red handle bent backwards. It seemed a little hard to get it on the last time I closed the case, but still appears WARPED. The side panel never opened very easy, so it must have gotten warped during the build or shipping. The box that arrived did appear damaged, but the system looked okay to me, but who knows. Maybe FedEx dropped it or something.

• Sound Blaster X-Fi - Fixed, after I changed a setting here: Control Panel, Audio Console, Mode "GAME". Was set to "Entertainment"
• Installed new SATA HDD, BIOS will not detect the drive, after all SATA controllers were enabled. Appears to be a faulty HDD from Seagate. I installed this new HDD in my old Dimension 8400 and it would not recognize the drive either. The drive just made a clicking sound, so I requested an RMA from Seagate to have the HDD replaced.
• 13 in 1 - BIOS, Windows Device Manager will not detect Working after I disconnected and reconnected the cable. It didn't appear to be fully connected when it arrived.
• Double clicking with mouse is VERY slow - Working now, after I installed the Microsoft IntelliPoint 5.5 and rebooted.
• Case sticker says "Core 2 Duo", but I have a "Core 2 Extreme" installed. Minor, but makes you wonder what they were thinking.

• OS Reinstall CD - contains bloatware that is not a part of the actual Windows Installation
• 13 in 1 Media Card Reader & 3.5" Floppy Drive - Loose, can be tightened with an extra screw but should have been done at the factory.

• Reset Button - missing
• Optical Drive Buttons - very flimsy and become hidden once the drive opens, requiring the user to push in the drive to close it.
• Express Service Code / Service Tag - The XPS Support 1-800 number does not recognize my code and sends me to the printer support line, where they have to transfer me to the correct department every time. I have been told it will take a few weeks to get the system updated with the new Service Tags.
• Power Button - Some are reporting the power button broke, or was very flimsy. My power button worked great actually and stood out about 1/4" from the case.
• Wrong Keyboard - one user reports being sent a Blue Keyboard when he ordered a Red one to match his Formula Red system.
• Unable to Boot - BubBowen reports his system won't even boot any longer. Not to mention he is missing the TV Tuner and Physics Card.  Bub was able to get this resolved, check with him for details.
• Power Cord - Two users have reported issues with power cords not working with the XPS 700 and 2007WFP.
• NVIDIA 590 SLI Chipset - This is more of a concern than a broken system board problem. Many users have expressed concern about all of the features that Dell REMOVED from the original NVIDIA 590 specifications for this chipset.
  

UPDATE: My replacement system is working great, no issues so far (besides the loose 13 in 1 and Floppy, which I fixed once again)
