automatic wakeup from hibernation

When I hibernate my Inspiron 9300 last thing before bed and then close the lid, it will usually wake up of it's own accord with the lid still closed some time during the following day, early or late. What might be the cause of this?

You probably have one of your devices (mouse, network card, and modem are common offenders) set to Allow This Device To Bring System Out of Standby.  To turn the setting off, bring up Device Manager, click the Properties of the device you want to check, and look for a Power Management tab.  This option will be there.  Deselect it.

    Good luck!

I think I have found the answer. I had a task set for 9.00am which I did not know about and since I have deleted it the automatic wakeup hasn't happened. I am interested in your suggestion for wakeup from Standby but I cannot see a Power Management tab on the Device Manager Properties for the mouse.
