Yesterday when I turned on my computer there was an error message that said "warning The battery cannot be identified. This system will be unable to charge this battery" Now whenever I unplug my AC adapter my laptop instantaneously shuts down. 

I just updated my BIOS, have tried my sister's power chord (same model chord), and undid any recent updates I made to my computer but nothing has helped.

I have the 1558 model and I got it a little less than a year ago. I haven't replaced the battery or power chord.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
