The same exact thing is happening to me.

I read in another thread, someone uninstalled Dell Stage and fix(disappeared)ed it, however, I already uninstalle(disappeared)d it when I first got the computer a coupl(disappeared)e months b(disappeared)ack.  So that won't work for me.

I spent a half hour on the phone with support.  They thought it had to do with trackpad sensitivity issues they had, but I think that is a totally separate issue.  I'm typing right now with an external keyboard and it happens just the same, my hands are nowhere near the trackpad.  The trackpad is also totally disabled now after what the tech did and it still happens.

Please someone, I like this laptop, I really don't want to trade it for another.  This seems like a simple issue, any Dell geniuses out there?

Thank you so much Dan37 for speaking up and saying it's happening to you - I have tried all the solutions others have written including disabling the Dell Track Pad but like you still happening. Very annoying. I love my Dell XPS 15Z - it's brand new but this issue has been happening since I purchased it nd first started it up. If you find any solutions please do let me know here. Much appreciated.

I am having the same problem guys.  I tried updating the Cypress driver, which Dell had claimed fixes the problem, but to no avail. 

This mouse pad jumps around like nobody's business.   And, the gestures stink.   Great laptop, horrible trackpad. 

If I would have known about the trackpad, there is no way I ever would have purchased this.  Don't know what to do now...

You could try turning off the Hide cursor while typing and or disconnect or disable the trackpad.

I've tried this and it does not fix it.  Thanks for the suggestions though, I'm willing to try just about anything at this point.

egaunt, are you just dealing with it?  I can't take it anymore.

I thought I was the only one with this issue.    I don't use a touchpad, but use a mouse.   Is there a way to turn the touch pad off?

I have only had his less than a week.  It's a 14 inch.

Well MSRussell, there are two problems with this thing and only one of them has to do with the trackpad (Although Dell doesn't seem to acknowledge this)

There are settings to disable the trackpad when using an external mouse ( right click trackpad icon in system tray -> TrackPad Properties -> Tab: Cypress TrackPad -> Link: Click to Change Cypress TrackPad Settings -> Tab: Device Select -> Checkbox: Disable TrackPad when external USB mouse is present )

If your issue is just random clicks happening on the screen, highlighting and overwriting of text...disabling the trackpad or reducing its sensitivity will help.

If your issue is as we described in this thread: Complete deactivation of your active window while typing.  I'm afraid you're in limbo with us.

Thought I'd jump on the bandwagon here too. Same problem, same story. Have latest driver, everything disabled but I don't use an external mouse so that fix won't work for me. I'm getting my master's degree and this is incredibly annoying as I am typing papers constantly and fighting the cursor constantly. About to send this thing back but I love it! I've only had it two weeks.
