D800 Screen Resolutions
What are all the screen resolution options available with the 15.4" WUXGA in the D800? Is it safe to assume that you can switch between 1920 x 1200, 1680 x 1050, and 1280 x 800?
Thanks,
Doug

That's because 1920x1200 is the WUXGA native resolution. Unlike CRTs, LCDs should always be at their native resolution when in Windows. It creates for a better overall screen (clarity, visibility).
From what I've read, a 144dpi settng will help the font size, but will minimize distortion.Hummelmose

Am I the only one that has major problems with the D800's resolution. the screen look moisted when not running in 1900 x 1200. And I think that 1900 x 1200 is to hi for my eyes.
I've tried large fonts. I've tried higher DPI, but both solutions has bad influence on my programming enviroment and web browser.
any tips is much apriciated.

I cant use the DPI enhancement since all web pages looks like cr¤¤.
I must say that the D800 has disapointed me in many ways. I really regret that I didn't go for the 4:3 D600.
Try the 144dpi. dpi setting is tricky, because it should be done by a common factor allowing undistorted graphics (default 72dpi x 2= 144 dpi).
Maybe I'm just young, but I love the WUXGA @ 72dpi.. it's so crisp and clear I love it for Photoshop, Flash, 3d studio, as well as others. I also use it for a lot of spreadsheet work for my 'small business' of building computers and modifying PC cases.

I am curious why the display just doesn't shrink down when you drop resolution instead of covering the entire screen. Seems like a smaller display at 1024x768 with the edges blacked out would give a better look. This article about high resolution monitor settings makes for good reading if you own a WUXGA.

I now run 144 DPI, but now all pictures are out of size. i.e. the logon picture on XP is smaller than the logon box, and try to run Windows Update. When you have to accept the files to get, you can't see the buttons. that's not very nice.
Have I done anything wrong, or is the way life goes ???
Regards....
I am also having similar problems with Dell Latitude D800:
- The native resolution (1920x1200) is too hard on my eyes.
- Increasing the text sizes/icon sizes just distorts all the images and makes everything look odd
- Decreasing the resolution stretches the screen except for just one or two resolutions (currently at 1280x800), but here the text is really fuzzy and hard to read.
I am happy with the D800 except for this MAJOR problem. I hope DELL can send some custom drivers or do something to get the fonts better and clearer on lower resolutions. I am sure no eye doctor would recommend the 1920x1200 resolution!
