Delayed xps 1530
I ordered my XPS 1530 on June 22/08 as a replacement for my Inspiron 6000. The delivery time has once again been changed. The expected date is now August 1/08. I called Dell today to find out what was causing the delay's. I was told they have a shortage of batteries. I offered to change to the regular battery but was told all batteries are effected.
I have bought 3 dells over the last 8 years because of their fast delivery. I can not believe that I have a wait time of over ONE month for a laptop to be built. This is not what I call progress. I am thinking about cancelling my order and going to the dark side and ordering a Macbook Pro that will take less than a week to be delivered.
Is anyone else having issues with a long delay in having a laptop built/delivered.
Thanks,
Dave

Seriously, you don't need to be rude to the guy - he was just asking a question. If you don't like it then next time just don't respond ok?
Right now I think most orders placed after mid-June are on back order. The story that most of us are getting is that the batteries 6- and 9-cell are just not available, due to a fire at the manufacturer. I have had my ESD changed from 7/9 to 7/16 so far, we will see if I actually get shipping then or not. Once your first ESD is passed you can call and request a free upgrade to Next Day shipping, but I think we are all finding out that that is the extent that Dell is going to help us out. I think we are all completely fustrated by this too, so you are not alone...

Search Button???
Seriously was there really a need to post another topic on this issue. There have been like hundreds already and if you haven't seen any you literally must be blind.
If you are too impatience to wait for like 4 weeks for a laptop that you will most likely use for the next 4 years then for sure go and buy a Mac or what ever else but i can tell you here and now you will be sorry.
Seriously search around before asking a question that has been answered many times before
