Dell 8600 LCD compatibility Issue
My dell 8600 15.4'' LCD went blank a couple of days ago and the repair guy to whom I went said its best to replace it. I see in ebay that they are selling 15.4'' screens from samsung they claim to be compatible with the 8600. I want to know if they will work with my 8600 and whether the dimesions match. I am doing this as I dont have a warranty and dell charges me $500 for the replacement. Has anyone tried using one of these with 8600.
Here are the Part numbers for the LCD as the ebayer advertised.

For the Samsung Part number(LTN154P1), here are the specs for the screen

INTERFACE LVDS(2ch)
OUTLINE DIMENSION(mm) 344.0 x 222.0 x 6.2

PRODUCTION Mass Production
I couldn't find the corresponding Dell part number as given. But I found this on the 8600 info.
15.4-inch Wide-Aspect WXGA, SXGA+ and UXGA displays:
Height: 1.52-inch (38.6 mm)
Width: 14.22-inch (361.2 mm)
Depth: 10.79-inch (276.1 mm)
I dont quite understand the dimensions. Are they the dimensions for the LCD or the dimension of the screen? And are they compatible with the samsung. I heard that Dell does not manufacture the LCD. They have samsung or hitachi LCD's.
Can somebody please help me on this. Thanks.
