Dell support does not support abroad!
Hi everyone,
I have bought a computer with an extended warranty in Australia. I have moved back home (in Brazil) and I need my computer fixed(the monitor of my laptop has burnt out). What was my surpise when I called DELL support in Brazil and they told me that I would have to take my machine back to Australia to have it fixed, as the model of my computer was not manufactured in Brazil. Perplexed, I phoned Australia DELL support and , for my realive, they told me the opposite: DELL warranty is international, so I should have my problem solved with DELL in Brazil.
Sinze than, They seem to be playing a ping-pong game with me, pushing the responsability to the other end.
Does anyOne has experienced something like this?
Any clue on what should I do?

You need to contact Dell and have the warranty upgraded to International Support - there may be a charge for it if you selected only a basic 1-year warranty.
Note that not all systems are sold in all places - so some may not be covered. This is no different than any other product - if you buy a Japanese-model Canon camera, Canon USA won't support it, for instance.
