I NEED HELP WITH DOCKING STATION

I have been able to use my docking station for a couple of years now, and now all of a sudden only the ac power and the internet work, and if i try to start the computer while docked, a black screen appears and it says that "an unknown docking station is hooked up, please hook up a known one or undock." What do i do to get this bad boy working again?

    Try this. It worked for one of my users who had the same issue:

    Start up undocked.

    Right click, My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Hardware Profiles

    Select the Docked Profile and delete it.

    Reboot still undocked.

    Shutdown.

    Dock the notebook and then boot up. A new Docked Profile will be created and all features should then be available.
