Inspiron E1505 - Problem with Mic
Hi
I have a new Dell Inspiron E1505. I plug in a mic with head phones to the input jack and then test the mic using the Sound Recorder and playback the voice is clear.
But when I use the mic for voice chat, my voice is very blurry and my voice breaks and the other person is not able to hear to me clearly, but i am able to hear to the other person very clearly.
I am not sure what is the problem, I have tried using 2 different mic's both have the same issue.
If anybody can help me solve this mic problem, it would be great.
Thankx in advance.
regards
anil

I bought an earclip headset this weekend.
Cyber Acoustics Ear Clip Headset with Boom Microphone
Model: AC-740At Best Buy it was $20.99. It works perfectly. As I said I had borrowed one the other day and it worked also. I'm guessing it is your machine.
Good luck
- I need to update my findings. When I first tested my new headset it seemd to work fine. On subsequent uses the people at the other end complained that my voice kept breaking up. There must be some problem with this machine. Is anyone at Dell monitoring these forums?
- Like many here, I found this to be exasperating... after some search, I found this link below and intalled the driver for Sigmatel to my E1505. And sound recording this time didn't cut off and volume was ok, both on Audacity and Windows Sound Recorder. For my course, I need to work with audio a lot. I haven't tested my audio over chat like AIM or Eluminate yet. I like to keep informed of this issue...
best wishes,
