Install Diagnostics without reinstalling windows?

Can I install the diagnostics utility for dell inspiron 9100 on the hard drive without having to reinstall windows if I use something like partition magic? Or is there a way to run it from a cd? And where can I download it from? I have found some downloads, but they don't seem like they were made for inspiron 9100. Anyone knows? The one that is most possible to work is called cdd1236.exe that I got from dell us website. Is this the one? If I burn it on a cd and boot from it will it work?
Thanks

Just run the latest Dell Diagnostics from bootable USB flash drive or CD.  Have a look at the links below.

Somms, Isn't the latest version for the I9100 (and others) v1236?

HERE is the latest set for the I9100 according to Dell's download page.

Dell 32 Bit Diagnostics (Graphical User Interface version), A1236
    Release Date:  06/30/2004
    Description:  Dell 32-bit Diagnostics v1236

Or is there another place to go a more up to date diagnostic program?

I tried the 1246 and it worked fine. Maybe it wasn't officially made for the 9100, but it worked.

In the executable splash, build1246 indicates support for the IXPS/9100.

Thank you.  I didn't know that one existed.
